Enjoy a full-day guided tour by minivan through the Loire Valley and explore the magnificent chateaus of Azay le Rideau, Langeais, and the stunning gardens of Villandry. A wine tour and tasting at a local cellar is included.
The day begins with a guided tour of Chateau de Azay le Rideau. It is one of the purest jewels of Renaissance architecture in the Loire Valley. The castle is delicately placed on an island in the Indre and still shines today with the lightness and balance of its mullions, pepper pots, dormers and above all its graceful staircase. Your guide will show you the castle from every angle by taking a walk in the English style garden.
Next, you will drive to a local domain for a wine tasting. The red and rosé wines produced on the estate are presented under the appellation "Bourgueil" AOC. They are made from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes, introduced by the monks of the Abbey in the 11th century.
After some time on your own for lunch, you will drive to the royal castle of Langeais for a guided tour. Discover this beautiful castle with its unique collections of furniture and tapestries in the spectacular banqueting and wedding rooms.
End the day with a guided tour of one of the most magnificent gardens of Touraine: Villandry. Your guide will soon have you speaking the language of medieval and Renaissance gardens, deepening your understanding of the healing powers of thyme and basil. You will return to Tours or Amboise around 06:00 PM.
