This guided sightseeing excursion by minivan will treat you to scenic views of Normandy’s coastline and the famous Mont Saint-Michel island.
The day starts with a scenic drive in a comfortable minivan between Bayeux and Mont-Saint-Michel. Your guide will drive along the coastline, so that you can enjoy the views of dramatic cliffs caressing endless beaches, in an infinite shade of blues, greys and greens. You will understand why Normandy is known across the world as the cradle of Impressionism. After some time on your own for lunch, you will head to the world-famous Mont Saint-Michel. Located on a tiny island 1 km away from the coast, the sight of this medieval fortified village and its hilltop abbey founded over 1300 years ago seems unreal. Stroll through the main street full of narrow half-timbered houses to the entrance of the abbey. The abbey consists of shocking vertical granite constructions with gigantic staircases. Discover “The merveille” with first the cloister and its breathtaking view of the sea, then the chapter room, the refectory, the knight's room, the small chapels, the crypts, etc. This is a labyrinth, and your local guide will be of great help! You will finish the day on the mighty fortified walls to observe the infinite bay and take memorable pictures before returning to Bayeux at about 17:30 hrs.
